Identifying Goals For HS Aged Players ↓
Burnout Prevention ↓
Increase Play Time Opportunities in the Summer ↓
For the 24/25 season Far Post has made the important decision to
reassess and reevaluate our oldest age group. Each year the needs of
our players change and we must adjust with them. This season we will
be offering multiple pathways to accommodate the goals and commitment
level of our players.
We will continue to provide our Academy team for our most committed players who want to push themselves, compete at the highest level, and increase their playing opportunities.
We have decided to add a secondary team this upcoming year to serve those
players who still want to train, play in a competitive environment,
compete in some games/events, but don't want to commit to the full
Academy offering. We understand our players in this age group have
varying goals, commitment levels, and available time so we wanted to
be sure to offer pathways to serve all players.
The academy group will be expected to have a high level of commitment
both at trainings and games/events. We plan to start slowly after the
high school season ends, allowing players to rest and recover. As the
season progresses so will our trainings. We will begin to increase
training as we start preparing for events in the late winter. Players
in this group are expected to be present consistently throughout the
year. We will be including 5 tournaments/events in your program cost
and players are expected to attend those events. All tournament dates
are determined before the season begins.
Our secondary team, the High School U19s, will have a consistent schedule all year long. We
will offer 1 training a week, even in the spring. Players will have
the option to play futsal during the winter then they will be
participating in a spring league and at least 1 event during the spring. Players
in this group are still expected to attend and be committed. We have
lessened the schedule to accommodate players’ needs, but still expect a
high commitment level for all scheduled events, games, and training.
We understand all players have different goals and visions for their
soccer careers. We want to help each player stay engaged with the
sport we all love and offer pathways that fit everyone's needs. Our
goal is to provide the best possible experience for every single
player in our club, and we feel these changes will allow us to serve
everyone.
